The business manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The business manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care
Reception, Administrators & Secretaries
There are experienced staff members working behind the scenes as well as experienced receptionists at both surgeries. They ensure the smooth running of patient services and will advise you if necessary of the facilities available and the numerous forms needed for sickness benefit, free prescriptions and registration. They also ensure confidentiality is kept tight and deal with letters, referrals and insurance claims. As part of practice policy, all staff are instructed to keep the contents of medical records confidential. Please do not blame the receptionist if the doctor is running late for your appointment or if she is unable to give you what you want. Remember they are all trying to do difficult and demanding jobs and often work under extreme pressure. We therefore ask you to be patient patients!
